The administrative division of La Campiña (one of the seven regions in which the province of Sevilla is divided) is a rural setting with attractive routes in terms of environment and very appropriate to carry out equestrian activities such as the following:
The routes are designed in such a way so that they can be made depending on each client’s time availability. These range from one-hour routes to day-long ones, as well as night routes in summer, when it is even possible to do a picnic half way with beautiful landscapes.
This same route can also be made in a horse carriage, together with the horseriders.
Route 1: San Pablo, 16 km (9 miles). This route goes around the finca San Pablo, property of the horse stud of the Cárdenas family, where we can see beautiful pure-bred horses.

RED EUROPEA DE POSADAS ECUESTRES (“EUROPEAN NETWORK OF EQUESTRIAN CENTRES”)
Its aim is to value the equestrian tourism by means of planned and signalled routes that connect different equestrian centres.
This itinerary is particularly known in Écija as “El Cordel” o “Camino de Écija”, whereas in Fuentes de Andalucía it is known as “El Camino de Los Palos”. The landscape of this itinerary is characteristic of the Ecijan Campiña: low bushes and grain and olive groves above all.
Its first stretch comprises 700 metres between Equestrian Centre Silva, an Ecijan finca (country property) located near “El Cordel” or “Camino de Écija”, and the North-oriented “Pozo de la Cruz”. Both places are in an area called “Cañada Real de Don Francisco”.
Once this distance is covered, we turn left heading south, where a second stretch of almost 7 miles known as “Camino Viejo” begins. Its most interesting points are the little house “Pozo Rosario”, “Molino de Santiesteban”, “Cortijo de Remanque” and “Cortijo de la Venta El Palmar”, featuring the curious architecture of a resting point for excursionists, which served as a Venta in the stretch between Fuentes de Andalucía and Écija. This is a magnificent resting point which has a drinking trough available for passers-by.
Across “Camino de Los Palos”, we come to “Vado del Arroyo de la Madre de Fuentes”, place where the second stretch finishes and the third one begins. Furthermore, it is also the point which separates the municipalities of Écija and Fuentes de Andalucía, a town we will arrive at after going across an almost 4km-slope known as zone of “Los Baldíos”.
Total distance of the itinerary: 16.400 metres (10.33 miles).
Minimum height: 127 metres; average height: 174 metres; maximum height: 215 metres.
Distance of gradient: 178 metres.
Distance of descent: -161 metres.
Maximum gradient slope: 8,4%, maximum descent slope: -9,6%.
Average gradient slope: 2,1%, average descent slope: -1,8%.
